In her new role, she focuses on third-party litigation issues impacting the Global Business and Markets Division, serving mid-to-large corporations and institutional clients. During her tenure at McGuireWoods, Caimi represented clients in litigation matters, with a focus on disputes related to the Uniform Commercial Code, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, the Expedited Funds Availability Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering issues, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She also handles pro bono matters, including volunteering at legal clinics and providing legal guidance to members of the local community. “I am incredibly grateful for the past 10 years at McGuireWoods. In his new role, he serves as the office’s primary lobbyist to state and federal legislators and supports civil litigation matters. At McGuireWoods, Christopher focused his practice on federal and state procurement, government investigations and regulatory compliance. He represented clients including government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and local startups. His experience also included prosecution of government contract claims and defense of government contracts investigations. “My time at McGuireWoods was first-rate in every way,” says Christopher, who joined McGuireWoods in 2019. “From the best possible supervisors and colleagues to the most interesting work imaginable, McGuireWoods is truly the place to be. Cooper, who joined McGuireWoods in 2018, focused her litigation and regulatory practice on representing financial institutions, broker-dealers and investment advisers against consumers and government regulators in federal and state courts. Her pro bono representation includes representing a defendant on death row in Alabama for post-conviction relief, and assisting with an affirmative asylum application for a woman who fled violence and abuse during the civil war in Cameroon, Africa. While pursuing her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, Cooper was a Kessler-Edison Scholar and earned membership in the Order of Barristers. She received the Dean’s Award for Public Service when she graduated and was honored with the Edward J. Henning Award for excellence in dispute resolution by the Atlanta Bar Association. “I will truly miss my McGuireWoods family. Patrick Dover, counsel in McGuireWoods’ Complex Commercial Litigation Department in Jacksonville, joined Patriot Rail Co. LLC on May 3, 2021, as assistant legal counsel. As one of two lawyers in the legal department of this rapidly expanding holding company for 13 short-line railroads, Dover helps manage Patriot Rail’s day-to-day legal affairs, including outside litigation, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and customer contracts. Dover started as a summer associate with McGuireWoods in 2008, and since joining the firm full time in 2009, he focused on litigating and arbitrating railroad business torts, with an emphasis on federal pre-emption and appellate work. US recognized him as a “Rising Star” in Transport: Rail and Road – Litigation in 2019 and 2020. Dover was a key member of the CSX client team working in the firm’s Jacksonville and Atlanta offices. Dover took a one-year hiatus from the firm to serve as an appellate law clerk to Judge Henry F. Floyd of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and previously served as a legal intern for the Federal Programs branch of the U.S. Department of Justice. “I am grateful for the opportunity McGuireWoods has provided to work on high-profile, complex litigation matters with great mentors and attorneys for more than a decade in our Jacksonville and Atlanta offices. Curtis Griner joined Ten Oaks Group, a family office investing in corporate divestitures, on April 8, 2021. As general counsel, he focuses on buy-side transactions and manages day-to-day legal functions for the organization. Griner joined McGuireWoods in 2010. As a member of the firm’s advised clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, corporate finance and other complex commercial transactions. He also counseled companies on general business matters ranging from board and shareholder issues to contractual, regulatory and compliance concerns. Griner began his career as a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Department, where he helped clients resolve high-stakes litigation and other complex legal disputes. Griner provides pro bono legal services to a number of organizations and has served on nonprofit boards and committees. He was selected for inclusion in the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society.
